Health notice: This tool does not provide medical or professional health advice. All calculations are estimates and should not replace professional guidance from a qualified healthcare provider.
LeanCalc (https://leancalc.com) offers free, web-based fitness and nutrition calculators (including calorie targets, macronutrient estimates, weight projections, BMI, TDEE, and water intake tools). You do not need an account to use the site.
When you enter numbers into LeanCalc (for example age, weight, height, activity level, or goals), those calculations run in your browser. We do not transmit those fields to LeanCalc as part of the calculation workflow.
We may use browser local storage (such as localStorage) so the site can remember your inputs between visits on the same device and browser. That data stays on your device unless you clear it or share a link that includes query parameters (see below).
You can delete your data at any time. On your device, clear site data for leancalc.com in your browser settings, or clear browsing data / local storage. This removes saved inputs stored by our pages in your browser. It does not delete records held by third parties such as Google under their own policies.
Some tools may update the page URL to reflect your inputs (for example, for sharing or bookmarking). Anyone with that link could see the parameters in the address bar. Do not share links if you consider those values sensitive.
We use Google Analytics (Google tag / gtag) to collect aggregated information about how visitors use the site (such as pages viewed and general technical data). This helps us understand traffic and improve the service. Google may use cookies and process data according to Google’s Privacy Policy. You can learn about Google Analytics opt-outs via Google’s opt-out browser add-on and your browser settings.
We also load a small first-party analytics script that we operate to understand how people use LeanCalc and to help us monitor and improve the site. It may record events such as page views, scroll activity, and session-related information (for example to see which pages are viewed and how far visitors scroll). Technical data such as your browser type, device characteristics, and IP address may be included when your browser sends requests to our analytics infrastructure. We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve LeanCalc—not to sell personal information. If you have questions about this processing or want to exercise privacy rights that apply to data we hold, contact support@leancalc.com.
LeanCalc may display ads through Google AdSense or similar programmes. Ad partners may use cookies, pixels, or advertising identifiers to measure performance and to show personalised ads. Use of these technologies is subject to the ad provider’s policies. You can manage certain ad preferences through Google’s ad settings and industry tools where available.
We load fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests fonts, Google may receive technical data (such as IP address and request headers) as described in Google’s Privacy Policy.
Like most websites, our hosting and content delivery infrastructure may process technical data (such as IP address, user agent, and timestamps) in server or CDN logs for security and operations. We use this in aggregated or routine forms consistent with running the service.
We and our partners may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for the purposes described above (functionality, analytics—including Google Analytics and our operator analytics script—and advertising). You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site or ads behave.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate legal bases under applicable law, such as: consent where required for non-essential cookies and similar technologies (where implemented), legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the site, and contract where necessary to provide features you request.
We retain information in line with this policy: locally stored data remains until you delete it; analytics and log retention depend on provider settings and operational needs, typically for limited periods in aggregated or pseudonymous form where applicable.
If the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR applies to you, you may have the following rights, subject to conditions and exceptions under law:
Because most calculator inputs are stored only on your device, many requests can be satisfied immediately by you clearing site data. For personal data processed by LeanCalc or our processors (for example via analytics or email correspondence), contact us at support@leancalc.com and we will respond within a reasonable time as required by law.
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) may apply.
We do not ask you to log in. We may collect or process the following categories through the site and service providers: identifiers (such as IP address, cookie IDs, or device identifiers), internet or network activity (such as pages viewed and interactions), and geolocation data at a general level (for example derived from IP). We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information as defined under CPRA through the calculators themselves.
You may have the right to:
LeanCalc does not sell your personal information for money. Under California law, certain transfers of personal information to third parties for advertising purposes may be considered a “sale” or “sharing.” Our use of analytics and advertising technologies may involve disclosures to partners such as Google as described in this policy. You can manage cookies and ad settings in your browser and through tools offered by Google and industry programmes. If you use a recognised opt-out signal such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC) in your browser, we will treat it as a valid request to opt out of sale/sharing to the extent required by applicable law, in conjunction with compatible partner technologies.
To submit a request regarding your rights, email support@leancalc.com. We may need to verify your request as permitted by law.
LeanCalc is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
LeanCalc is operated from the United States. If you access the site from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate, which may have different data protection rules than your jurisdiction.
We take reasonable measures designed to protect the site and our systems. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date.
